The TSM South Story

TSM South was founded in 1993 on the principle that quality products and outstanding customer service are essential to the success of the business.  Accordingly,  TSM South has chosen to represent those manufacturers with the highest customer acceptance. NEC Unified Solutions, Cisco, and Adtran equipment, over the years, have demonstrated excellent technology and high reliability.

The principals of TSM South are Fred, Bob, and Marilyn Bolton.  Prior to TSM South’s beginnings, Fred Bolton managed Xerox’s telecommunication services for 19 years.  His responsibilities included voice and data networking, video conferencing, PBX telephone service, Centralized Message Center service, PC and workstation support, local area networking, and the international links that interconnected Xerox’s US Operations to their foreign affiliates in Europe, Japan, and Brazil.  Fred supervised a telecommunications services staff of more than 300 employees and an operating budget of over $120 million dollars per year.

Robert, an Electrical Engineering graduate from North Carolina State University, worked for Northern Telecom prior to the formation of TSM South.  At Northern Telecom, Robert became an expert in computer networking, and in telephony equipment.

Marilyn, TSM South’s treasurer, received her master’s degree in education from Lynchburg College.  An instrument rated private pilot, Marilyn was treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the Rochester Pilot’s Association.  Together, Fred, Robert, and Marilyn have over 50 years of telecommunications, computer technology and business management experience.

TSM South focuses on providing superior service.  Being a small entrepreneurial enterprise with very close customer relations provides an inherent advantage over larger, more impersonal companies in the competition for telecom business.

TSM South’s business philosophy is to make the customer the center of all corporate decisions.  Customer satisfaction, rather than revenue and profits, is the corporate goal.

In the fall of 1997 TSM South was recognized as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in the Raleigh-Durham-Research Triangle Park area. The company is managed by Electrical Engineering graduates and enjoys a high degree of technical depth. The company has installed systems throughout North Carolina, and in most other States.  These systems range in size from small business key systems, and Local Area Networks, to enterprise-wide networked voice and data equipment.
